About the Role

We are hiring a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support a property management and real estate investment operation.

This role is focused on accuracy and consistency in financial records. You will be responsible for recording invoices, tracking expenses, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

This is not a full accounting role. You will not be responsible for tax filing or complex reconciliations. Instead, this is a hands-on execution role where attention to detail and follow-through are critical.

Over time, this role can expand into property management and coordination responsibilities for the right candidate.


Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping (Primary Focus)

  • Record bills, invoices, and expenses accurately in the system (Buildium or similar)
  • Ensure no invoices or expenses are missed
  • Track payments and follow up to ensure bills are paid on time
  • Maintain clean and organized financial records
  • Categorize expenses correctly by property or project
  • Review monthly records for completeness

Property Management Support

  • Respond to basic tenant questions related to billing or accounts
  • Maintain tenant and vendor records
  • Support lease-related administrative tasks
  • Monitor open items and proactively flag issues

Light Coordination (Growth Opportunity)

  • Track key dates and deadlines
  • Ensure vendor documents (tax forms, insurance, etc.) are complete
  • Follow up on outstanding tasks to keep operations moving

Requirements

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Buildium, or similar tools
  • Strong organization and follow-through
  • Clear written and verbal English
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision

Nice to Have

  • Experience in property management or real estate
  • Familiarity with Buildium
  • Experience handling tenant or vendor communication
