JOB SUMMARY:

A Senior Data Engineer at Argano leads the design and implementation of advanced data solutions. They provide technical expertise and contribute to the overall data strategy. Senior data engineers hold primary responsibility over the construction and maintenance of data collection systems, pipelines, and management tools. They focus on mid-to-large projects building data processing frameworks that handle the business's growing database. They strive to continuously develop new and improved data engineering capabilities. This position supports external software developers, database architects, data analysts, and data scientists on strategic data initiatives and ensures optimal data delivery engineer is consistent throughout ongoing projects.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement data engineering solutions using Azure services and best practices.
  • Develop, test, and monitor data pipelines and workflows using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Perform data ingestion, transformation, and integration from various sources, such as relational databases, files, streams, and APIs.
  • Optimize data performance, quality, and reliability using Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, or Azure Databricks.
  • Implement data security and governance using Azure Key Vault, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Purview.
  • Participate in Scrum development life cycle using Azure DevOps and Git for code management and collaboration.
  • Document and communicate data engineering solutions and architectures to stakeholders and clients.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and innovations and service features / developments in data engineering and Azure technologies.

 

MINIMUM AND/OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field is expected.
  • Master's degree or PhD in computer science or software engineering preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in Azure data engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience with Azure DB, SQL Server / T-SQL and Synapse.
  • Strong programming skills in Python/PySpark.
  • In-depth knowledge of big data technologies and distributed computing.
  • Experience with experience developing data warehouses and data marts.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration.
  • Experience in developing Azure Data Factory pipelines to orchestrate ingestion and transformation data for use in analytics and system integration
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud-based data solutions.
  • Experience with Git version control or Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with security configuration, security policies, and best practices within a cloud environment

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Azure Data Engineer Associate Certification (preferred).
  • Fabric Data Engineer Associate Certification (preferred).
