Role: Video Editor (Sports Editing Experience)
Hours: 8am - 5pm Brasilia Time (BRT)
Hourly Wage: $7 - $9 (Open to negotiation based on experience)

Lago is looking for a skilled and creative Video Editor to join our content production team. In this role, you’ll help bring high-energy, engaging stories to life across multiple platforms. We are looking for someone who can edit both short and long-form video content, with a particular focus on combat sports and jiu-jitsu events.

This role requires attention to detail, a strong sense of pacing, and an understanding of what makes fight content perform well online. If you’re excited about producing video that connects with a passionate fanbase and helps brands stand out, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Edit event match highlights (approximately 27 matches per event, ranging from 2–10 minutes each)
• Deliver high-quality horizontal cuts optimized for YouTube
• Create promotional shorts and reels (15–60 second vertical videos for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, etc.)
• Use trending audio, captions, smooth transitions, and attention-grabbing edits
• Edit branded content and commercials (15–30 second sponsor assets for broadcast and digital use)
• Produce additional media content, including athlete interviews, media day footage, and behind-the-scenes clips
• Collaborate with the content team to plan and coordinate daily content releases
• Design custom thumbnails for long-form videos to drive clicks and engagement
• Stay updated on social media trends, platform requirements, and editing best practices
• Post directly to social media channels when needed

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in video editing or post-production
• Proven experience editing combat sports, jiu-jitsu, or action/event-based content is highly preferred
• Strong portfolio showcasing diverse video work, including storytelling, corporate, promotional, and social media content
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition), Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
• Excellent understanding of composition, timing, pacing, and visual aesthetics
• Ability to edit raw footage into polished final assets with smooth storytelling and dynamic pacing
• Experience with branded content, sponsor integrations, or commercial spots is a plus
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Comfortable working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional attention to detail and creative problem-solving abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Media Arts, Communications, or related field is preferred
