WordPress Web Designer

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a detail-oriented Web Designer/Developer to take over ongoing design and build work on our WordPress site, built with Thrive Architect. This is an ongoing, part-time role starting at a guaranteed 5 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours as new projects come up.

Our website is the primary driver of our business - every product purchase and every client inquiry comes through it. We need someone who can match the level of polish and attention to detail it currently has, while taking the day-to-day design and build work off our plate.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design and build new landing pages and website sections inside WordPress using Thrive Architect, based on content and direction we provide.
• Create mockups (Figma or similar) for new pages, present them for approval, and then build the approved design directly in the page builder.
• Ensure every page looks and functions correctly across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
• Maintain visual consistency across the site - fonts, spacing, button styles, colors, and overall layout.
• During lighter weeks, review existing pages for inconsistencies, update older landing pages to match current branding, and help develop a brand style guide (covering things like button styles, spacing, shadows, fonts, and corner radius) for our site.
• Apply basic on-page SEO best practices when building pages - proper heading structure (H1/H2/H3), image alt text, meta titles, descriptions, and permalinks.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Proven front-end design and development experience, ideally with a strong eye for visual design, layout, and consistency.
• Hands-on experience with WordPress page builders (Thrive Architect, Elementor, Divi, or similar) - direct Thrive Architect experience is a plus but not required.
• Comfortable creating mockups in Figma (or similar tools) before building.
• Solid foundational understanding of on-page SEO - heading tags, alt text, meta titles/descriptions, and permalinks.
• Strong attention to detail and patience for the finishing touches that make a page look professional.
• Able to work independently with light direction, and comfortable using AI tools to speed up workflow where it makes sense - while still hand-building inside the page builder.

WHAT YOU WON'T NEED TO DO

• Write or develop copy/content - that's handled on our end.
• Build a custom site outside of WordPress - all work happens within our existing page builder setup.

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

• Hourly rate: $17-$25/hour USD, based on experience
• Hours: 5-10 hours/week guaranteed, with potential for more as projects ramp up
• Fully remote
• Start date: As soon as possible, ideally within the next few weeks

• Paid skills assessment on a staging site - a hands-on design/build task to evaluate your skills with the page builder and your design eye
